At HP Industrial, we work with sustainability, ESG, and PCF/LCA analysis – we are at the forefront of regulatory requirements. We will soon publish our first ESG report.
Responsibility is at the core of our values, and therefore we are highly focused on promoting a better environment, reducing CO2 emissions, minimizing our consumption, and recycling as many resources as possible. Our responsibility also encompasses how we treat each other and how we build our team within the company.
We have chosen to focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and focus areas (see figures) that currently make sense and add value to us as a company. We have allocated resources for ESG and sustainability work. We believe that our focus makes us a more attractive company for our customers and for society as a whole.
We aim to reduce our energy consumption in the future. Purchasing energy-saving production equipment and inventory is an ongoing process, which will significantly reduce consumption in the future. We also supplement our reductions by trading in renewable energy and plan to increase compensation in line with our expansion. We emphasize the recycling of plastic in our production. We use up to 50% recycled plastic in our total consumption, and some of our products are made from 100% recycled plastic – and we want to increase that proportion. The circular consumption will greatly attract our attention in the future and is a natural focal point in our collaboration with customers in developing new products.
It is very important to us that our employees thrive with us and enjoy coming to work every day. We listen, acknowledge, and ask them every day how their day has been. Our well-being levels are measured by, among other things, absenteeism, work environment, and employee turnover, and we naturally discuss things and find common solutions immediately.
We want to be an inclusive workplace with space and room for differences, and we believe that a diverse team provides the optimal foundation. It is the basis for knowledge sharing and the essence of broad experience and understanding. For several years, we have included employees in, among other things, flex jobs, apprenticeships, internships, and helped people on the edge of the labor market. Our team consists of employees of different ages, genders, and nationalities.
It is important for our selection of partners that they also recognize social responsibility and adhere to human rights worldwide. Our economic growth goes hand in hand with our social responsibility.
In our management, we have decided to make sustainability work a natural part of the company’s future tasks. Therefore, we have made it an important point on the agenda of responsibility towards society and ourselves. Our value chain collaboration is extremely important. We want to meet our customers’ future inquiries and requirements regarding sustainability. Conversely, we will also demand a bit more from our suppliers in the future. Documentation is important in our ESG work and not least for our calculations of CO2 footprints at the product level (PCF) and the entire product life cycle (LCA), which we want to map in the future.
